Honey My Heart

We were introduced to Honey My Heart by another local artist who loved her jewelry pieces. After looking her up we were amazed with her stuff (especially the little bunny ring!), so we thought we'd go ahead and feature a Q & A with Jella from Honey My Heart to give you a little taste of who she is, her creative process, and how she gets inspired.

LWF: What made you want to create Jewelry?
HMH: I have always been inspired to create and enjoy a DIY approach to things. From stationery to accessories, having my hands in the whole design process is appealing to me. I always wanted to create jewelry and after some research on materials and gems and a few classes, I dove right in!
LWF: It looks like you really love art, especially hand-made and small business's. Are you at all inspired by these art forms?
HMH:Yes! I am inspired by all kinds of art, especially art created by local small businesses. Stationery, posters, t-shirt designs, and little sculpted pieces are all so full of color and design, and make me want to create.
LWF: Tell us about your creative process and how you get inspired to create your different pieces of Jewelry?
HMH:I spend a lot of time reading blogs. Wedding, photography, creative/DIY, and lifestyle blogs. I also enjoy walks around my neighborhood, on the bluffs, and ocean views. From the blogs and my neighborhood I draw inspiration of the shapes and colors, and how I feel. Then I spend lots of time forming sterling silver, working with it to achieve the perfect shape. I also spend lots of time coordinating a color scheme that works for the season and timelessly. All of this is done with the hope that my love can be seen through the pieces I make.

We love Honey My Heart, and are so happy we got to share her art with you here at the Inspiration Den!
